If TitleLeaf fails to process your MARC file while creating a collection analysis report, try the following procedure.

Convert your MARC file

Preliminary: Download and install the MarcEdit application. Locate MARC file to fix (eg, sample.mrc). Open MarcEdit application.

  1. In the MarcEdit application, open the MARC Tools module

  2. Select Operation: MarcBreak

  3. Select Data to Process: Open: sample.mrc

  4. Save As: sample-tmp.mrk

  5. Click "Execute" button

If successful, "Results" at bottom of window will confirm. Close MARC Tools window.

  1. In the MarcEdit application, open the MarcEditor module

  2. Select menu item File > Open. Select the newly created "sample-tmp.mrk" file

  3. Select menu item File > Compile Options > Compile file to MARC

  4. Save as "sample-fixed.mrc"

If successful, close the MarcEditor window and quit the MarcEdit application.

Import into TitleLeaf

Preliminary: Login to TitleLeaf.

  1. Navigate to Your Account > Manage your collection analysis reports

  2. Click "New Report"

  3. Specify the newly created "sample-fixed.mrc" file; Specify a name for the report

  4. Click "Create"

Wait for email notification that processing is complete.

Processing a 25MB file requires approximately 15 minutes

Assign report to another user

If a customer has requested assistance

  1. Obtain file from customer

  2. Follow process above using your admin account

  3. Upon successful processing of the file, navigate to Admin > Sales > Collection Analysis

  4. Find the report that you created

  5. Click the report name in the list of reports to view the report details

  6. Click the "Edit Marc Report" link in the right sidebar

  7. Change the "User" from you to the customer in question

  8. Click "Save"

Send email to customer that their report is available.
